we all have had been told “put up your phone” “we are in class”. well let’s talk about the phones in school
some kids don’t even have a phone but for the ones that do they feel the need to have it out either to avoid social interaction in the hall or have anxiety walking home and want an easy way to reach 911 or their family. according to the Child Crime Prevention & Safety Center “Every 40 seconds, a child goes missing or is abducted in the United States. Approximately 840,000 children are reported missing each year.” if these kids had a cell phone on them or out this could be reduced If smartphones are allowed in school, students will have easy access to more information and therefore will be more participative during class discussion. Being able to search up facts in just a few clicks is one of the biggest advantages of using technology.

also, some cons are some kids would take this to their advantage like being on their phone and missing out on an important assignment and this could hurt the student’s grades and knowledge. it would reduce cyberbullying and making fun and posting about others appearance and what they are insecure about. and this can also be another way for bullying if a kid does not have the money and can’t afford one they could and is a good possibility that kid would get made fun of.
